Founded in 1860 in Columbus, Ohio, Weinman entered the pump industry as a manufacturer of steam driven piston pumps. Weinman was the first manufacturer in the United States to develop End Suction and Split Case pumps in 1913 and 1930, respectively. In 1993, Crane Co. acquired Burks, Prosser, Weinman, Crown, and Barnes pump brands from Harbor Group and renames as Crane Pumps & Systems, with office headquarters and manufacturing located in Piqua, OH.
